Hey there everyone! Due to a number of problems with the Profiles, I’ve decided to change the Joining policy, so here’s the deal. I will add everyone who is currently watching the club, so that they can be officially listed as Members. I will then help each individual person work through their Profiles so that we maintain a single, uniformed approach. In the meantime, please feel free to enter the Club Contest, found in the Activities page. The deadline has been extended to 25 March.

ABOUT

Designed in the year 1996 by mangaka Kazuki Taskahasi, the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game is a popular pastime that entertains Duelists all over the globe. This club wishes to indulge just that, so greetings from ~The-Destined-Duel, a club dedicated to deviantART’s Duelists . If you have an interest in Duel Monsters you are more than welcome to join

Each month the club will have activities for you to take part in. You can find more information about these in their respective links. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.

Anyway, here’s a little bit of club history. As you can see, the club itself was actually formed last year, but due to the Founder being such a procrastinator and really disorganised, it was put off until now, 2008 . The name of this club comes from a Yu-Gi-Oh! game that was released on the Game Boy Advance some time ago, known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel. So there you go.

In order to become a member, you must send a note with the subject “JOIN”, having attached your full profile, the template of which is here: [link] For an example on how to fill it out, here's mine: [link] There are three parts to the Profile – the first part is a straightforward personal profile on you, the second is one on your Duelist and the third is a deck list. Please ensure that you use the given template and include it in your Note.

The second part of the profile is where things are slightly more complicated. For the sake of fun, I decided it would be an interesting idea if everyone designed an Original Character (OC). The OC should be new and have an adaptable personality – that way, there’s lots of room for character development . Make your character unique and interesting with flaws and strengths.

Above all, no relatives/friends/acquaintances of existing Yu-Gi-Oh! characters. This makes things overly complicated and takes away the originality of your character, not to mention the fact that this club is about the Duelists of the real world, not the Duelists of the Yu-Gi-Oh! world.

The third part of the profile is simply a deck list. The deck will be used by your OC in the Story section. It may be a good idea to design a deck prior to designing your OC; not everyone likes every card in Duel Monsters and it may help you decide their likes and dislikes. This may simply be your existing deck, if you so wish. The only rules in this section are NO Sacred Beasts, Slifers, Winged Dragons or Obelisks, Blue-Eyes White Dragons or made-up cards.

After that, just watch the club and add a link in your Signature or Journal . Simple as that!

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Emperor Deck

The estimated time of arrival of this deck is April 2, 2008, and with a formidable theme, it is a must for any Duelist who feels they are lacking the Monarchs. The series of Monarch cards have almost stretched across all the Attributes – there’s Mobius for WATER, Raiza for WIND, Granmarg for EARTH, Thestalos for FIRE and Zaborg for LIGHT. With the release of the new Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Emperor Deck (known is Japan as the Advent of the Emperors Structure Deck) the Monarchs are finally complete. Caius the Shadow Monarch explodes onto the scene, bringing with him an effect that takes us back to The Second Graveyard:

When this card is Tribute Summoned, remove from play 1 card on the field. If the removed card was a DARK monster, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.

Much of the Deck is centred around the Out-of-Play Zone, giving access to cards such as D. D. Warrior and Solemn Judgement. Despite all of these perks however, this is not the best of the deck. Caius the Shadow Monarch is not alone, and flanked by an army of all previous Monarchs, it is a deck of 40 cards that is prepared to do damage. It has been tried and tested by various Duelists and comes with a unique Duel Mat. The availability of the Monarchs is certain to boost decks across the world.

[BAN]

There are two ways in which to play the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG – one is to play by the Traditional Format, which ignores the Ban list, and the other is to play by the Advanced Format. In order to build an Advanced Deck, Duelists must adhere to the entire list for the deck to be Tournament Legal.

This is the current Ban List, which came into effect on 1 June 2007. It was taken from here.
